'Age Of Empires: World Domination' Cancelled After Staying In Soft Launch Status For 11 Months
C. de LacyThe game "Age of Empires: World Domination" met its untimely demise that left the few fans that had access to it. Was it removed from the AppStore temporarily for a bigger update or did the publisher finally pull the plug?
As reported from a french site iPhoneSoft, "Age of Empires: World Domination" isn't going to be joining the ranks of the popular titles in the series originally made by Ensemble Studios and Microsoft Studios that stretches back to 1997.
The title and the series itself has been a regular household name in its genre and it struck the fans odd that the game specifically developed by K-Lab will now be removed from the AppStore and PlayStore later this November 30.
The official website recently made its official statement regarding the termination of service though there wasn't any particular indication of the reason behind the game being put down for good. It will be unavailable for download at exactly 3:00 PM (JST) onwards.
Since October 6, gems and goblets can no longer be purchased preventing players from proceeding any further with the game. The official website and customer support will also be closed afterwards.
For players who still have some Gems and Goblets are advised to contact K-Lab directly to cut loose ends. They can be reached at info-aoe-en@klab.com.
It was a shame that the game only lasted roughly 11 months and was released only in two select countries in Asia. The game had good reviews from PlayStore though there had been a number problems that plague the game indicated by the 1-star ratings and comments.
For players who still want to keep playing similar games can instead try out Gameloft's homage to the series titled "March of Empires" and the more popular mobile game, "Clash of Clans," which just got a few massive updates to make the game feel and look fresh again.
