'Naruto Shippuden' Latest News: What To Expect After Sasuke’s Story Arc

Gio C.

Fans will continue to enjoy "Naruto Shippuden" as the anime series brings a new arc featuring Sasuke, as well as adaptations of a few novels from the franchise.

The next episode, which will premiere on December 1st, will be an anime series adaptation of the novel "Sasuke Shinden: Book of Sunrise", written by Shin Towada. The arc has so far two confirmed episodes: "Sasuke Shinden: Book of Sunrise - The Detonating Man" and "Sasuke Shinden: Book of Sunrise - Colosseum," respectively.

The story tells of Sasuke Uchiha and his adventures after the Fourth Shinobi War, his revenge on his brother Itachi, and his search for a new, meaningful path in his life. The novel is 224 pages long; given that an anime adaptation of an earlier novel took 8 episodes for a 544-page book, it is most likely that the arc will last for 4 episodes.

The other novel, entitled "Konoha Hiden: The Perfect Day for a Wedding," tells the story of Naruto and his friends as they prepare for his and Hinata's wedding ceremony. Kakashi Hatake has tasked Naruto's comrades Rock Lee, Shikamaru, Chouji, Ino, Sakura, Yamato and Sai, to find of the perfect gift for the couple.

Last but not the least, is "Shikamaru Hiden: A Cloud Drfiting in Silent Darkness." Set two years after the end of the Fourth Shinobi War, the story involves Shikamaru investigating and possibly assassinating Gengo: the leader of the Land of Silence, and a new threat to Konoha as a peaceful town.

The two novels have the same page length as Sasuke's novel - thus, four episodes from each arc may be expected.

Despite being confirmed for production, the release dates of the two novel's adaptations are currently unknown. However, the two other stories may continue right after the conclusion of the Sasuke arc.

Stay tuned for more updates regarding the highly-anticipated "Naruto Shippuden" Episode 484, which will be released next week.
