'FIFA 17': Ultimate Team Guide

Gram

The Ultimate Team is one of (if not) the most popular game modes in "FIFA 17." Recently, a new mode was introduces, the FUT Champions, which serves as the competitive part of the Ultimate Team. Winning the matches will earn you rewards based on the tier of the match.

Doing good on the Daily knockouts will earn you a spot on the Weekend leagues. If you're still good enough for Weekend leagues you'll earn a spot this time on Monthly leaderboard tiers. Ultimately (sorry for the pun), you may even earn a spot at the World cup if you're really good.

So how do you start raking in those rewards? Lee Price has a guide to help us.

The basics

Similar to trading card games or as Lee had mentioned "football stickers," you collect a pack of players and other various items. Then out of all those you build your squad then have them go to several games which will earn you coins that you'll have to use to strengthen them.

It is obvious that building your "Ultimate Team" will take hours and hours of game time but eventually you'll be feeling your squad getting stronger.

Player ratings

There are three categories that which a player is defined based on how good they are, namely Gold, Silver, and Bronze. What you'll be aiming to get would probably gold players, since they are rated 75 or higher overall. But do note that some tournaments, as Lee had mentioned, has some entry restrictions that might prohibit gold players.

There are another three categories that make up the previous categories. They are Normal, Rare and In Form. Those In Form players features stat boosts to those players who are performing really good in their real life counterparts.

Building a team

The performance of your team will greatly rely on their Chemistry. The highest rating of chemistry would be 100, and making it reach that is no easy feat. As Lee said, you'll be constantly facing challenges with regards to chemistry, since players must have a contract for your team. So keep collecting Contract cards as this is the way to make your team efficient.

The transfer market

This is where it gets financial - the transfer market. Since not all will have the luck to have a lot of Gold or Silver players, this is the place where you can buy or sell them. You can buy them through the use of coins or with the FUT coins, which translates to real money since you buy those with cash.

You may be thinking that, with this case the money spenders (sometimes referred to as "Whalers") do have the advantage in making the ultimate team. But then again, as Lee had said, that's also the case in the real life Premier League. So better check when the market tends to drop prices which is based on a lot of elements like if there's a lot of a certain player in a market, or if your target player moves on a different team in real life, cases like that.
