"Van Helsing" Season 2, starring Kelly Overton (Vanessa Helsing), has been confirmed by SyFy. Spoilers revealed that the new season of vampire-themed show will offer a unique perspective on these evil creatures.

The official synopsis states that Vanessa is holed up in an abandoned hospital with other human survivors. After she wakes up, she fends off both vampires and treacherous human beings. In doing so, she realizes she has special powers.

According to Nerdist, the "Van Helsing" TV series is loosely inspired by the comic book from Zenescope. As such, the "Van Helsing" TV series is set as a post-apocalyptic vampire hunting tale.

Neil LaBute, the series' showrunner, tells Deadline that they have a "terrifying road" for Vanessa in upcoming season. Plus, that includes her allies and her enemies. LaBute is even confident that the story can go on for many years, which is why Syfy trusts them with the renewal.

Meanwhile, while fans are waiting for season 2, "Van Helsing" season 1 is available now on Netlfix.

The entire "Van Helsing" Season 1 will be available to stream for those who want to binge watch all its episodes while Season 2 has already been commissioned. Joining Overton in the cast are Jonathan Scarfe, David Cubitt, Trezzo Mahoro, Paul Johansson, Christopher Heyerdahl, Vincent Gale, Laura Mennel, Rukiya Bernard, Tim Guinee and Aleks Paunovic.

The vampire thriller is distributed by Dynamic Television and produced by Nomadic Pictures which is also its studio. Chad Oakes, Mike Frislev, Simon Barry, Daniel March, Dave Brown, Evan Tyler and Zadoc Angell are executive producing, and so is Neil LaBute who is also the writer and showrunner.

Neil LaBute also promises "Van Helsing" Season 2 to be bigger. Now, Vanessa has a huge battle ahead of her in season 1. In the meantime, watch out for more "Van Helsing" as it airs every Friday on Syfy.
