'Final Fantasy XV' Guide: Easier Travel, More Gil, & Level Up Tips & Tricks

"Final Fantasy XV" has just been released last November 29, with players lining up just to secure their own copy of the game.

How's your game so far? Any troubles with your road trip? Thankfully, Mike Minotti has us covered with some tips essential to the adventure.

Keep running by jumping

To start off, make sure that your stamina bar is enabled. To do this, go to options menu and turn it on. This way you'll know when your stamina will be depleted before your character slows down.

Now that you have an idea when your stamina runs out, it is good to know that while you jump, your stamina still replenishes itself. So what Mike wants to point out is, after you ran out of stamina from sprinting, jump all the way until your stamina is full again then rinse and repeat.

It sounds and looks stupid but hey, if it works then there's no problem right? The Chocobos are not accessible until later in the game anyway, so until then you can jump all over the place.

Don't hoard items

Unlike the other "Final Fantasy" games, in this game you don't earn gil every battle. And to do so, you'll have to sell those items in the "treasure" category. Yes, those items might sound important later in the game but if you can easily hoard them then you might just as well sell them.

If you're really keen on saving some for later then just save a small amount like 5 or 10 at most then sell all the extras. As Mike said, outside of upgrading a weapon - which is not that useful since you can just buy a better gear later, he never found a need for those "treasure" items. But of course, as an important rule in RPG games, never sell your curative times since these will surely be needed on future battles.

Rest at hotels when you have a lot of experience points

After doing battles, you'll be awarded with experience points. But until you sleep, those experience points won't be tallied yet. And this is where camping comes in, although you only get normal experience this way.

However in some place and hotels, they give you bonus multiplier on your experience points. So another tip is, rest at hotels for those crazy multipliers since if you've been doing a lot of battles and missions then you most likely can afford them, with the exception of the hotel on beach side port which costs 10,000 gil per night but gives x2 multiplier instead.

Get Ignis' healing abilities

As part of your battle rewards you'll be obtaining AP which is used to unlocked abilities, bonuses, inventory slots, and some moves. In the case of Ignis, you'll want to focus on his abilities and unlock his healing capabilities. This will help you save necessary healing items in case you need them and also help you save the gil needed to buy them.

Don't worry about missing side-quests

As a JRPG gamer, it is a concern when side quests are missed and cannot be done anymore since most of the time those quests give out some of the best weapon, missable items, and game changing items or abilities.

For "Final Fantasy XV" however, you can take your time as you can go back to those missions you've missed before even after defeating the final boss (and saving afterwards, which you can use to load and be brought again to the open world).

Teleport often during fights

Running in fights can't be helped because of some situations. Because of these, you need to take advantage of teleporting on higher areas or hiding behind rocks or walls. This will help recover your MP and health.
