With the release of numerous gaming consoles, laptops, desktops, and high-end game titles, there comes the need of a powerful graphic card that will power your gaming life like a pro. Nvidia's Geforce GTX 1080 Ti is seen as one such. Let's explore it more.

While it's important to note that both these graphic cards are not officially released, there have been info leaks about AMD Radeon RX 490 and Nvidia's GTX 1080 Ti that gave a glimpse of what to expect.

The Radeon RX 490 is expected to work slightly cooler and achieve higher clock frequencies than the GTX 1080Ti because the Radeon is 2 nm smaller than the GTX 1080 Ti.

Meanwhile, on the power consumption part the Radeon RX 490 requires 225 Watts to run, in contrast to GeForce GTX 1080Ti that requires 180 Watts.

Contrasting the memory bandwidth puts AMD RX 490 on clear win which is reported to sport a 716.8 GB per second while GTX 1080 Ti will have 384 GB per second. Both have the same amount of video memory if we compare the GPUs. But the experience can vary a little when the game is played with high textures at high resolutions. The memory of GTX 1080 Ti has 12 GB GDDR5, on a 320-bit bus while RX 490 is expected to have 16 GB HBM2, on a 4,906-bit bus

However, AMD outscores with its powerful architecture with 12 teraflops while Nvidia's has only has 10.  According to internet sources, the Nvidia GTX 1080 Ti comes with a base clock speed of 1,503-megahertz (MHz) and the AMD Radeon RX 490 is speculated by Videocardz to have 1,200 MHz base clock speed.  The boost clock speed of GTX 1080 Ti  is 1,623 MHz. while the RX 490's boost clock is unknown.

According to rumors, the AMD Radeon RX 490 is expected to arrive this December, while the GTX 1080 Ti has an expected CES 2017 launch.
