Samsung Gear S3 Review: What Makes It A ‘Smart’ And Incredible Fitness Tool?

Samsung Gear S3 is the ninth smartwatch of the South Korean company which comes in two variants, the Gear S3 Classic, which is more sophisticated, and the Gear S3 Frontier, which is a lot sportier.

According to Phone Arena, the said wearable is "one of the best smartwatches that you can currently buy," adding that "unlike many other smartwatches, the Gear S3 does not look geeky or weird in any particular way. Quite the opposite in fact, it looks like a classic masculine watch and if you look from afar you might even not notice it is 'smart' in any way."

It has been said that the Gear S3 is the best traveller's companion as it has a new app that covers up to 50 cities across the world which will give tips, guides and even travel destinations.

Though the Samsung wearable is a bit larger than its predecessor, it features brilliant specifications that people would surely love.

Moreover, the Gear S3 has a round 360x360 pixel screen that can be set to always-on which means that you don't have to shake your arms to activate the screen. However this drains the battery later.

What makes this wearable even greater is that both versions have IP68 water and dust resistant. It will endure the rain and could be soaked in five feet of water.

Meanwhile, the Samsung Gear S3 is almost packed with everything from fitness tracking, phone calls, news, voice-control, music controls, reminders and news updates to notifications. However, to use all these features, one must download an app, an accessory service and a plug in to your phone and sign up to a Samsung account. The wearable will also work with Samsung Pay only that you have to sign up to Samsung's service.

The wearable is packed with 380mAh battery that will make you survive three and four days of normal usage but for those who will enable the always-on feature, the battery might last to over a day and a half only.

"Samsung has once again built a fantastic smartwatch with top-tier hardware, buttery smooth software and some powerful features. It undercuts Apple's Series 2 smartwatches whilst retaining all-important components like GPS, wrapped up in what is arguably a nicer, more approachable design in either guise: Gear S3 Classic or Frontier," as reported by Recombu.

The Gear S3 is available at $350, which is a bit pricey, but if you're looking for a more all-around fitness tool, then the wearable is perfect for you
