The next installment of the popular "Gran Turismo" franchise, "Gran Turismo Sport," is set to wow racing sim fans next year, as the game is announced to take advantage of the PS4 Pro's features.

This was revealed during this year's Playstation Experience, where Polyphony Digital showcased the newest trailer for its "real racing simulation" video game.

"Gran Turismo Sport" To Support 4k, HDR, VR

The game was confirmed to be fully optimized for Sony's new console, the PS4 Pro, according to Alphr. This means that "Gran Turismo Sport" will be playable in glorious 4K. The game is also said to support HDR standards, almost guaranteeing a visual feast for fans of the "Gran Turismo" franchise.

Apart from HDR and 4K, "Gran Turismo Sport" will also have VR capabilities, but only on selected cars. The experience was very close to real life racing, according to Playstation Lifestyle, and the actions done by the player off screen translates very well in the game.

Players will also be able to experience "Gran Turismo Sport"'s stunning environment in all its glory through Playstation VR.

"Gran Turismo Sport" Release Date

Despite showing the jaw-dropping trailer at PSX, Polyphony Digital has still kept quiet about the game's final release date.

Back in September, the release date for Polyphony Digital has announced that its upcoming racing simulator game has been delayed indefinitely.

Writing about the "difficult decision" on the Playstation Blog, Polyphony Digital founder Kazunori Yamauchi announced that the latest title in its racing sim franchise will not be released in November as originally planned.

"'GT Sport' is Polyphony's foremost competitive gaming title," Yamauchi said, "with high expectations from both the fans and from within our team."

"However, as we approach our planned release date in November, we realize we need more time to perfect GT Sport, which we've already dedicated so much effort towards since announcing the title," the "Gran Turismo" creator explained. "We do not want to compromise the experience in any way."
