Samsung Galaxy S8 Release Date Postponed To MWC 2017? Phone To Boast An All-Screen Design & Oust Headphone Jack [VIDEO]
Vinay Patel2016 has been nothing short of a roller coaster ride for Samsung due to the global recall of their Galaxy Note 7 a few months back. Now, the company is gearing up to amend its run down reputation with the Samsung Galaxy S8 smartphone.
Samsung has pinned its faith in Galaxy S8 to lure millions who abandoned the brand because of the Galaxy Note 7 fiasco. In line with this, the upcoming smartphone is expected to boast an array of awe-inspiring features. There's hearsay that the Samsung Galaxy S8 release date is pushed as the company plans to further augment its latest flagship smartphone. Several reports also claim that Samsung Galaxy S8 will be unveiled at MWC (Mobile World Congress) 2017.
Nonetheless, the company is hoping to redeem itself and its loyal consumers from the devastation their ill-fated Note 7 has cost them with Samsung Galaxy S8. The company also plans to introduce some radical changes in the specs of Galaxy S8 --- which will not only influence the release date, but also the price of this highly anticipated smartphone.
Samsung Galaxy S8 Rumored Specs
Samsung Galaxy S8 will be powered by next-gen processors. While the S8 will pack a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset in the United States, the international variant will feature an Exynos chip --- giving the device an edge over the Apple iPhone 8. Moreover, the S8 will oust the home button and boast an edge-to-edge display, AppleInsider reported.
One of the most talked-about features for the Samsung Galaxy S8 has been the bezel-less display. The new design is expected to give the smartphone an "all-display" characteristic. According to Inquisitr, Samsung will get rid of the home button to bring about the bezel-less design. In other words, a virtual home button will stand in lieu of the standard physical button.
Samsung is also likely to dump the Galaxy S8 headphone, replacing it with a USB-C for audio and charging. However, some tech pundits deemed the decision to oust the headphone as a bad move on Samsung's part as it will kill what sets the company apart from Apple.
