Fans of "Outlander" Season 3 can't wait for the series to return next year; but many were hoping that the new season will be more intimate than the previous one which ended with Claire's journey through the stones to restart her life with first husband Frank.

Moreover, one of the most awaited parts in the upcoming season is the reunion of Claire and Jamie; many believed that the two will get together at a print shop. However, this might not happen as the show has somewhat departed from the book series.

"We always try to stick as close as we can to the books, but obviously it's hard to make a book episodic. I think there is going to be stuff there that the fans will recognize since we put in as much detail as possible, but there's some really incredible moments. Certainly, the beginning of Season 3 is a slight deviation from the book," Sam Hueghan told the PopSugar.

At this moment, it is not yet clear as to when and where Jamie and Claire would reunite. Hueghan and Caitriona Balfe (Claire) has once said that they have been filming separately a lot during the early episodes which might mean that they will be apart in a few chapter of the series.

"It's always hard when we're apart, actually, because she's a great person, great to come to work with, and a very good actress," Heughan told Vanity Fair. "But I think it all adds to the reunion - if there's a reunion, or when there's a reunion - well you know there's one in the books. It should be very special."

Meanwhile, some speculated that the most loved couple might reunite in Season 3, Episode 10. This was further fuelled when Claire said in an interview with Vanity Fair that fans would have to wait patiently for their very intimate reunion.

"There will be some other sex going on. I think to really let the reunion and everything that's going to happen once Jamie and Claire see each other, I think it's really special. Maybe they'll have to wait a little bit, but I don't think it's going to be as scarce as last season, shall we say?"

"Outlander" Season 3 is expected to air on April 2017 on Starz.
