The latest NBA trade rumors hinted that the OKC Thunder and the New Orleans Pelicans might enter a deal before the trade deadline mainly involving power forward Anthony Davis.

iSports Times reported that the OKC Thunder are planning to rebuild their team and bring in a talented player to become one of the top contenders for the NBA league title. Reports touted that adding Davis is expected to aid the Thunder team to fill the void created by the departure of Kevin Durant to the Golden State Warriors in the offseason.

It is stated that Davis will provide the OKC Thunder with excellent defensive skills and thus, help them to put up high scores on the board in the NBA season. Besides, it is stated that the 23-year-old player might be teamed up with the Thunder's key player Russell Westbrook in order to form a dynamic duo, which will help the team to provide a tough competition to other teams in the NBA league.

Moving on, few reports stated that even Davis is keen on joining a new team at the earliest because of the New Orleans Pelicans recent losses this season. It is stated that Davis wants to be traded before the trade deadline and become a part of the team, which has the potential to provide him with a shot at the NBA title. This is touted to have further strengthened the NBA trade rumors of Davis joining the OKC Thunder.

In order to seal the deal with the New Orleans Pelicans, reports hinted that the OKC Thunder might send point guard Victor Oladipo, center Steven Adams, point guard Cameron Payne, power forward Domantas Sabonis and a 2017 first-round NBA draft pick in exchange for Davis and Pelicans' future draft pick.

However, there is no official word on whether the New Orleans Pelicans will opt for the rumored trade scenario or not.
