Assassin's Creed - the franchise that managed to blend free-running, virtual reality, and awesome-looking hoods to create a world-wide sensation. Ever since the first game's official launch back in 2007, Assassin's Creed has sold more than 93 million copies across nine main games worldwide.

Stunning visuals, fluid animations, and a thoroughly unique concept have pretty much ensured that the Assassin's Creed franchise will stay a legend in the field of third-person open world action games. Very few can only hope to get up close on the richness of its storyline and the magic of its knife-throwing and free-running action.

But now that there's an upcoming movie under the same name, die-hard fans can barely hold their breath in anticipation and anxiety. Let's be real; movies based on other forms of entertainment --- be it books, games, TV shows --- will always be a hit-or-miss kind of deal. They either translate the story, characters, and concept to the silver screen so well that even non-fans will be intrigued by it or they do it so horribly that original fans will swear off the series completely.

With a star-studded cast that includes Michael Fassbender, Marion Cotillard, and Jeremy Irons, Assassin's Creed (the movie) has raised the fans' expectations considerably. It already has some pretty huge shoes to fill, considering that the game franchise alone is now worth $300 million.

In this teaser, we see Cal Lynch as Aguilar (Fassbender) going sword-to-chain with a couple of rival assassins. After that, we're treated to a pretty epic chase scene seasoned with a few jaw-dropping parkour (enhanced by dramatic camera angles). The clip gets more and more intense as we see some juxtaposition of present-day Lynch-as-Aguilar, dodging and ducking like nobody's business (and looking mighty fine while he's at it).

The clip ends with a truly breathtaking shot of Lynch/Aguilar performing the mother-of-all free falls. Talk about leap of faith. If the teaser is anything to go by, its cinematography already looks promising. But will the movie actually do justice to the Assassin's Creed franchise? One can only hope.
