Pokemon Sun and Moon players are most likely to breed their Pokemon first with various moves and abilities, as well as individual values. However, the biggest challenge for them is raising a Pokemon properly.

With that, players always look for new methods to train their Pokemons' EVs for competitions --- especially now that the horde battles and the super trainings in Pokemon Sun and Moon were removed. Thus, below are some tips and tricks for players to get their grips on Pokemon EV training as quickly and easily as possible with Poke Pelago and Festival Plaza.

EVs, also known as Effort Values, are used to make a Pokemon stronger in specific states. Effort Values are gained over time via field battles, selected items, and other methods; as compared to Individual Values, which never change. The Pokemon's six base stats are where EVs are added to make them stronger. When Pokemons get defeated, they bequest an EV point --- depending on what a Pokemon is typically gifted with. Take for example, a Zubat --- beating one will allot one Speed EV point to the player's Pokemon. Pokemon who usually have stronger evolutions will allot two or three EV points when defeated as well.

EV Training With Poke Pelago

On Isle Evelup in Poke Pelago, maxing out the player's Pokemon stat would be easy and effortless. For every 30-minute playtime session, a player earns four EV points. If players add Poke Beans, it will only use up 15 minutes per session. Moreover, players can customize the number of Play Sessions they want their Pokemon to finish in the background; meaning, players can set Pokemons to move and finish the training on a selected time. This is applicable regardless if a player switch their 3DS on or not, according to IGN.

Players should set Poke Beans to last half the time of the exisiting session when using it, especially when splitting the amount of training time. For example, if training takes up 31 hours to be completed, players should set their Poke Beans to last at least 15.50 hours. Even though it's just a figure, it already calls for rainbow Poke Beans or special Poke Beans. Poke Pelago will then update the finished time when players return afterwards.

EV Training With Festival Plaza

There are several facilities in Pokemon Sun and Moon where players can get EV points as well --- some of which includes Friendship Café and other restaurants. In the Festival Plaza, they serve dishes that can raise EV points. However, these dishes can only be bought once a day --- making it not an ideal way to earn EV points, but can still at least add up. Enjoy, trainers!
