Samsung Galaxy S8 Specs And Features: Flagship Rumored To Be First To Offer Bluetooth 5 Standard And Snapdragon 835 Chipset

There is understandably a lot of expectations for Samsung's next flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S8. This is because most people are looking at Galaxy S8 to be the company's way of making up for the infamous Galaxy Note 7 debacle earlier this year, which almost destroyed their reputation completely.

But now, new reports are suggesting that the Samsung Galaxy S8 may just be able to deliver on its promise this time around --- with the help of a certain wireless data transfer standard, the Bluetooth 5.0. The new Bluetooth wireless technology update was previously announced by the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG) to come out sometime between late 2016 to early 2017. The Bluetooth 5 promises a more significant performance as compared to its predecessor and has been revealed to offer quadruple the range, double the speed, and 800% more data broadcasting capability.

On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy S8 is expected to be officially announced during the upcoming 2017 Mobile World Congress (MWC) Trade Show. Its purported release date is also found to coincide with the new Bluetooth update's release, which could possibly mean that the Galaxy S8 will be the first one to have this new standard. The event will be held sometime between late February to early March; meaning, the Galaxy S8 could become publicly available within that month as well.

As for other Samsung Galaxy S8 rumored specs, it will the first smartphone to sport the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset. The device is also rumored to come with an optical fingerprint scanner, which is directly embedded on the display. But as of the moment, Samsung has yet to confirm the aforementioned specs and features; thus, majority of the rumors are just speculations for now.
