Smartphones and other products such as telecommunication devices have been upgraded to versions that are more compatible with users and their everyday needs. This is the reason why Siri has become so popular with Apple users and Alexa from Amazon. Now, Google has also upgraded its version of digital assistant and released its first Google Home speaker, which is integrated into most of Sony's products.

According to Sony's press release, "Google Home users can now use voice control to stream music and video to several models of new and existing Chromecast built-in Sony speakers and Android TV Sony 4K HDR televisions." Users can also use music streaming devices, including YouTube music, and skip through tracks with just their voice, starting with "OK Google."

Also according to the release, another feature of Google Home includes Google's Multi-room group, which allows users to group supported Sony speakers together in the Google Home app. This will play the same song on both Google Home and the Sony speakers using voice or a mobile device.

Google Home is voice activated and listens to your command, following its closest rival Alexa of Amazon. Sony devices like Sony Model HT-ST9, Sony HT-NT5, Sony HT-CT790, Sony HT-XT2, Sony HT-RT5 Sound Bars, Sony STR-DN1070, Sony STR-DN1060, Sony STR-DN860, Sony STR-DN860 receivers, Sony SRS-X99, Sony SRS-ZR7, Sony SRS-ZR5 and Sony SRS HG1 wireless speakers will receive updates with firmware integration of Google Home.

The biggest selling point of Google Home is that it will be smarter with the help of Google Assistant. With all that Google knows about its users in the data stored in Gmail, Google Docs, Google Maps, search history, it hopes to deliver a more personalized experience. Compared to Alexa, Google Assistant integrated into Google Home has an edge, as it is coupled with Google users' information stored on the web. This makes it easier to know the person's interests through the history of searches.

The market is growing larger for digital assistants and it is clear that one day these assistants will have more upgrades and will soon be near perfect for everyday use. Google has added more support to its products, and Sony devices with Chromecast built-in are the first devices that can use Google's Home assistant.
