Talks about the Samsung Galaxy S8 point out that the upcoming flagship smartphone will feature camera hardware that is much more advanced. According to multiple reports, its image processing will be improved by 70 percent.

WCCFTECH reported that a trusted tech tipster from China, Ice_Universe, posted on Weibo that the Samsung Galaxy S8's new chipset will be responsible for the said improvement. The Exynos 8895 will reportedly reach clock speeds of up to 3.0 GHz and run at a maximum power draw of only five watts. Apart from being Samsung's self-made chipset, it is also reportedly the Korean company's first chip to be manufactured on the 10nm process.

Based on the chipset's leaked specifications, as seen on GSM Arena, Samsung Galaxy S8's Exynos 8895 will be out in two versions; the 8895M and the 8895V. These models only differ from one another in two aspects.

First, the former will reportedly feature a quad-core M2 performance CPU that can clock 200 MHz higher than the latter. Second, the G71 GPU that the 8895M showcases gives it two more cores than the 8895V. It was also reported that the chipset scored 2301 for single-core and 7019 for multi-core on Geekbench.

The leaked data regarding Samsung's homegrown Exynos 8895 chipset points out that the Korean tech company will continue with its rebound efforts following the failure of the Galaxy Note 7. The new specs suggest that the upcoming Galaxy S8 will be focused on advanced photography -- an upgrade that can also be seen in Apple's iPhone 7 and A10 Fusion.

It has also been reported that, in addition to the Exynos 8895, Galaxy S8 buyers can also get their smartphone with the Snapdragon 835 chipset from Qualcomm. That is, depending on where the unit is purchased. It remains unclear whether Samsung patrons can have a choice on this matter or not. The company has yet to issue an official statement on the matter.
