'Pokemon Prism' Has Been Leaked And Played By Many Gamers After Being Shut Down By Developer
Jason GlennNintendo has ceased production of "Pokemon Prism" before its release. Prior to this event, the game company enforced a massive ban on unofficial and fan-made games of the said title.
However, as of this moment a group of people were successful in leaking a copy of the final and updated version of the unofficial Pokemon-ROM game. Fans who were looking forward for the game were eager to get their hands on the game's leaked copy.
"[We are a] group of people interested in seeing ROM hacks succeed," said one of the leakers on Pastebin who uploaded the Pokemon Prism data according to Polygon. "This project grew in popularity enough to make us interested in it, and the letter from Nintendo got us in action," they continued as they got hold of the files despite the developer Adam "Koolboyman" taking it down last week.
Kotaku reported that there has been a lot of buzz in the subreddit of the "Pokemon Prism" after it was online and available for download once again. The players have already been sharing some secrets, tips bases on their experience of the game and even making walkthroughs, type charts, FAQs, and other basic information like original storyline, hard-to-beat opponents and regions that made the game into a community.
"Sorry your game had to end like it did, with someone eventually having to leak to get it out," a player said while some other threads where thanking the developer and was even named "Thank You Koolboyman."
But since Nintendo has been threatening the developers to be sanctioned with legal actions which prohibits them from updating the game any further, some players have warned them not to distribute the game.
"And as for using part of this game to do something else, while we can't give you permission (since we aren't the ones who made it), it's very unlikely that the original devs would stop you after receiving a C&D themselves," they wrote on Pastebin. While the players are enjoying the leaked "Pokemon Prism", the developer has not made any comments yet.
