‘Clash Of Clans’ Banned In Iran: ‘Clash Royale’ May Appear In the Banned List Soon!
uBmuse"Clash of Clans" has been one of the most played games in 2016 and is still trending among the must-have games of the year. While the game is very addictive, it seems very unlikely that the game has any influence on a person's social character. Iran's Ministry of Justice, however, has a reason to think otherwise. The Govt. has banned the game in Iran on the recommendation of the Committee for Determining Instances of Criminal Content. The Committee believes that the game is promoting violence among the population of the country.
The Iranian government has a reputation for censoring the internet to keep its citizens safe from the content it deems inappropriate. "Clash of Clans" had been played by more than two-third of mobile gamers in the country, which may also be a reason for the ban. The game was blocked earlier last week by Iran's Ministry of Justice because psychologists believe the game is promoting violence and 'tribal conflict' among the people.
Players were having trouble accessing the game even before the ban was confirmed in Iran and then later on the app was even removed from the popular third party app store, Cafe Bazaar. The country had banned "Pokémon Go" earlier in August, and despite their combined efforts, the gamers have not been able to get their hands back on the game. Iran's Ministry of Justice banned "Clash of Clans" after they received a recommendation from the Committee for Determining Instances of Criminal Content to remove the game.
There are rumours that the Iranian Judiciary may decide to ban Supercell's another strategy based game, "Clash Royale" next. While other countries do not get involved in its citizen's decisions too much, Iranian Government has a very strict stance on filtering digital and social networking platforms. According to IBTimes, about 70 percent of gamers in the country use VPNs to get around the blocks imposed by the government.
It is very unlikely that other countries will follow in Iran's footsteps. The game doesn't favour a particular religion, gender or area. The game doesn't even show off any brutality in the game, a character that dies takes birth someplace else. Stay tuned to Mobile&Apps for more news and updates on "Clash of Clans".
