The upcoming solo movie will probably be titled "The Batman". It may be released by 2018 end or 2019 beginning. The fans of DC Comics and "Batman" franchise saw the 2016 movie 'Batman vs. Superman" where Ben Affleck played the role of the dark and ponderous "Batman". He joined the franchise amongst much excitement and buzz since he took the role from Christian Bale. Bale had played the character in 3 movies directed by Christopher Nolan which serve as important references for the superhero movies.

"The movie I think is going to be called The Batman," Affleck told The Associated Press in October 2016. "At least that's what we're going with right now. I might change it...That's about all I got right now. We're working on the script, the script is going well, I'm really excited about it." As far as the release date is concerned, there is still some doubt attached to the subject. Amongst reports about "Justice League 2" being delayed, the mid-2019 may be taken up by "The Batman". However, only recently it has come to be known that "The Batman" may see an earlier 2018 release. This would mean that the standalone

"The Flash" movie may not release by the originally planned date of March 16, 2018. The 2018 theory matches with what Joe Manganiello, who plays the villainous Deathstroke in the film, told Entertainment Tonight when he proclaimed about "just getting ready to go shoot Batman in the Spring." "He's [Ben Affleck] got an Oscar for writing. Like, this is all the components to go down as a... everything is lined up for a really really really great movie. Not only a superhero movie but just a great great movie," commented Manganiello. Jeremy Irons will reprise his role as dedicated butler Alfred.

However, even as the other cast of the upcoming movie is being confirmed by the producers, the titular character portrayal is itself in peril currently. Will Ben Affleck be reprising his role as "Batman" in the movie? Affleck is well aware of the criticism and reception received for his character in the 2016's "Batman v. Superman" movie.

"That's the idea. But it's not a set thing and there's no script," said Affleck recently. Offering further details in the interview with the Guardian, the actor noted, "If it doesn't come together in a way I think is really great, I'm not going to do it". There is currently a lot of uncertainty about the future of this solo superhero movie. However, we expect some clarity by the producers and creators soon enough.
