Sony Xperia X Receives Android 7.1.1 Nougat Update; New Xperia X Smartphone Hinted
Ritwik RoyThe Sony Xperia X was definitely not a well-received device as it lacked some of Sony's magic features and had lots of bugs that bothered fans. However, it did have Sony's signature audio quality and a pretty impressive camera. Now, the device has become the first phone, apart from Pixel and Nexus devices, to receive Android 7.1.1. Sony's smartphone prices are still a major draw as its competitors such as Google Pixel and Apple iPhone are pretty expensive.
The Sony Xperia X's win points apart from price include great build and design, dedicated camera key and high-resolution audio upscaling and powerful screen technology. The recent Sony Xperia X Android 7.1.1 Nougat MR1 update has build number 38.3.A.0.41.
According to the Xperia Blog, "new features include a restart option on the power button menu and a faster camera start-up time. Sony has also added PlayStation 4 PS4 Remote Play support to the Xperia X Concept (no DualShock support right now though), as well as updating to the latest 1 December Google Security patches." However, the Sony Xperia X Android 7.1.1 Nougat MR1 update is not yet available to all owners.
A later update to the official software will make it available to all Sony Xperia X owners. Users from Europe may go to Play Store to download the Xperia X Concept installer. The Android 7.1.1 update is only available to users who have chosen the Experimental update track. In all probability, the update is headed to the Stable track in a few weeks, writes GSMArena.
Meanwhile, leaked images have revealed a new Sony Xperia X smartphone. The front part of the smartphone is visible. It has a black color body with almost non-existent bezels around the display. The leaked image also shows a 5-inch to 5.5-inch display. The bottom of the right edge of the phone shows a dedicated camera button, reports India Today.
