Lenovo Miix 720 Windows Tablet Best Alternative For Microsoft Surface Pro 4 [VIDEO]
Portia Mae M. CansancioLenovo has once again introduced a 2-in-1 champion device that can stand out in a market dominated by Microsoft. Dubbed as Lenovo Miix 720, it comes as a pretty solid competitor to the Surface Pro series, particularly Microsoft Surface Pro 4.
Lenovo has a very wide array of convertibles ranging from entry-level to premium while Microsoft only has the Surface Pro and the Surface Book. Although these two are some of the best in the market regarding with its specifications, they aren't always cheap. With Microsoft leaving a tablet-shaped whole as they were not able to refresh its Surface Pro line last 2016, Lenovo Miix 720 can definitely fill in and could be the best alternative.
Just like the Surface Pro, Lenovo's newly launched 12-inch Windows 10 tablet includes detachable keyboard cover with a touchpad and a fold-out kickstand that is adjustable up to 150 degree-angle. It differs as the keyboard is already included with the Mix at its starting price of $999 and it will be apparently shipped in April.
Aside from the bundled keyboard, it is also loaded with cutting-edge features and specs. The Lenovo Miix 720 tablet runs on an Intel Core processor based on the latest Kaby Lake architecture and has an integrated graphics processor enabling a 4K video support.
Plus, it has a 2.880 by 1.920-pixel resolution which is better than the 2736 by 1824-pixel resolution of Surface Pro 4. It uniquely has the USB-C port which is a high speed Thunderbolt 3 port to connect two external peripherals. Miix 720 includes USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 ports as well, PCWorld reported.
Furthermore, Lenovo Miix 720 supports upto 16GB of faster DDR4 DRAM than the Surface Pro 4's older and slower DDR3 memory; a 1TB PCIe SSD for storage. The Lenovo tablet also has an infrared camera for Windows Hello, enabling a facial recognition feature that allows users to unlock their tablets.
