Just as we wonder over one particular spectacular technical innovation, we are awarded another high-tech gadget at our disposal. Kingston has just introduced a 2TB Flash drive (portable). This is a record-breaking storage device which is extremely impressive and innovative.

In 2013, Kingston had made headlines by introducing 1TB pen drives to the tech world. Sure, they were not the most affordable gadgets around. However, it did create a good PR for the company and enthralled everyone. Now almost 3 years later, they have outdone themselves by introducing 1TB and 2TB DataTraveler flash drives before the Consumer Electric Show (CES) 2017. It must be noted that no other leading names in the storage device segment tried to match up to the original 1TB storage space.

What can the users expect in the brand new flash drives? Kingston has specified that these two Ultimate GT flash drives are able to produce USB 3.1 Gen 1 performance. That translates into transfer speeds of almost 5 Gb per second! The body of the flash drive is made with a zinc alloy metal casing that makes it shock resistant. The design is mostly similar to the 2013 models of 512GB and 1TB pen drives. However, the 2016 version is definitely sleeker than its predecessor.

What does 2TB storage space translate into? One can imagine it to accommodate almost 70 hours of 4K video, 0.5 million MP3 files and high definition photos. If the user is still wondering about the capacity of this super portable gadget, Kingston has published a comparison chart. The Kingston DataTraveler Ultimate GT storage devices will be available February onwards. However, a price range has not been announced yet. They will carry the standard 5-year warranty offered by Kingston. Keep watching this space for more updates about the latest updates and news in the tech world!
