Marvel's 'Thor: Ragnarok' Gets Plot Synopsis, Reveals Hulk Role;Behind The Scene Photo Released; Release Date Confirmed
Keisuke AkioMarvel has released the plot synopsis and first image from the upcoming "Thor: Ragnarok." The picture shows director Taiki Waititi on set with star Chris Hemsworth.
"Thor: Ragnarok's" release date is still about ten months away and, perhaps, it will take a while before the movie's marketing campaign kicks off. Disney, however, is starting the year with a teaser of what is to come.
The studio has finally revealed an official "Thor: Ragnarok" synopsis that strengthens several of the story details. It also released the first and the latest "Thor: Ragnarok" behind-the-scenes photo that reminds us Chris Hemsworth's bare arms are still one of the best special effects this forthcoming movie has to offer.
The synopsis reads: In Marvel Studios' "ThOr: Ragnarok," Thor is imprisoned on the other side of the universe without his mighty hammer and finds himself in a race against time to get back to Asgard to stop Ragnarok - the destruction of his homeworld and the end of Asgardian civilization - at the hands of an all-powerful new threat, the ruthless Hela. But first, he must survive a deadly gladiatorial contest that pits him against his former ally and fellow Avenger - the IncrEdible Hulk!"
The warrior feature is taken from the Planet Hulk series of comic books. Last month, director Taiki Waititi told Total Film in an interview that the place of Sakaar, where these epic battles happen, would be one of the movie's main locations. The director described the place as a far-off futuristic setting, which was the biggest modification for the film and its characters.
"Thor: Ragnarok" is directed by Taika Waititi and recasts Chris Hemsworth as Thor and Tom Hiddleston as Loki. Mark Ruffalo will portray Hulk's alter ego Bruce Banner, along with other actors, including Cate Blanchett, Karl Urban and Jeff Goldblum. Blanchett is supposed to be playing the villainous Hela, while Goldblum will depict immortal games-playing Grandmaster. Gamespot has also reported that Benedict Cumberbatch will reprise his role of Doctor Strange. "Thor: Ragnarok" be in theaters on November 3, 2017.
