'Charmed' Prequel With A Big Twist!: The New "Power Of Three" Revealed!d!
Rommel"Charmed" is one of the most watched TV shows of the 90s and early 2000's. Rumors of a possible reboot, at last, is currently in the works and no other network can pull it off but The CW. Prior to this, there were a lot of talks about the spinoff but it is only now that it seems like it will be real! However, 'Charmed' reboot, which is most likely a prequel, will not bring back the Halliwell sisters. The new version may be having different characters, but who will be the characters of "The Power of Three?"
According to TVLine, the treatment for the new show is similar to "The Carrie Diaries" for "Sex and the CIty." Working on the new show are Amy Rardin, Jessica O'Toole and Jennie Snyder, executive producers of Jane the Virgin, which gives the prequel reboot a lot of hope. The characters, however, will be three girls named Tina, Annie and Paige.
The new Charmed reboot will be taking its audience back to 1976, with three witches brought together in New England to fight evil. It can be recalled that Rose McGowan played Paige and one of the new witches bears the same name as her.
"Charmed" - The New Power of Three are: Tina, an African-American smart character who is just a dissertation away from her PhD. Reserved and standoffish but is very judgmental and quick to conclude. Paige is the all-American girl, wholesome and is about to marry a rich doctor to be a wife and a mother. Annie is the intense witch who is quick to anger, she's the definition of extremes, as beneath the dark shade is an aura of fragility wanting to be loved and love.
"Charmed" which ran from 1998 through 2006 was originally played by Alyssa Milano as Phoebe, Holly Marie Combs as Piper and Shannen Doherty as Prue - the three sibling witches that resemble the Power of Three. It is unlikely that the new cast will involve the entire cast but some may actually be asked to return. The original San Francisco-set series hired a new actress to play the part of Paige when Shannen Doherty left the show. Here is the news report by ET:
