iPad Pro 2 Expected To Give Microsoft Surface Pro 4 A Run For Its Money
Athena DeeApple's iPad Pro is currently available in two versions, the 9.7-inch and the 12.9-inch. The former was released in March 2016, while the latter was out into the market in September 2015.
Its upcoming flagship tablet, the iPad Pro 2, is expected to launch with three different variants. "We expect three new iPads to be launched in 2017," Ming Chi-Kuo, an analyst from research firm KGI, confirmed. It will be released with a 9.7-inch and a 12.9-inch screen, as well as a new model that has either a 10.5-inch screen or a 10.9-inch screen.
This new model is said to feature a bezel-less screen, much like the reported speculations for the upcoming iPhone 8. One other similarity that these two Apple flagships are expected to have is a virtual force touch Home button that is embedded directly into their screens.
All of these three iPad Pro 2 models will run on an A11 chip and 3GB of RAM, with storage capacities from 32GB to 256GB. Just like the iPads that were released before them, they will also not support a microSD card storage expansion.
Tech Times has reported that the upcoming iPad Pro 2, which is expected to launch earlier this year, will have specs that will make it go head to head with Microsoft's Surface Pro 4. The latter device will have a 12.3-inch screen, 2,736x1824 pixel resolution with 267 ppi, 8MP rear camera and 5MP front camera, and 4GB of RAM.
There is, however, one particular feature that the Surface Pro 4 has and the iPad Pro 2 does not. Just like the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, the iPad Pro 2 series is reportedly also going to ditch the headphone jack. Months after the the iPhone 7 series was unveiled, consumers were quick to have a petition for the Cupertino-based tech company to bring back the 3.5mm port.
