Pay Without Bringing Your Wallet With Android Pay
Caroline SorianoGoogle has developed Android Pay, a digital wallet platform which powers in-app and tap-to-pay purchases via smartphones. This means that users can pay using only their Android tablets, mobile devices, and smartwatches. The platform transmits card information which transfers money to the retailers by utilizing near field communication (NFC).
Having an Android Pay means being free to go out leaving the user's wallet at home as this platform pays for their purchased good and services through the Android devices. This is made possible by simply tapping on their phone, for example, to a compatible point-of-sale terminal with NFC.
Major banks in the US such as the Bank of America, Chase Bank, Citibank, and Wells Fargo support Android Pay. Chase Bank has almost been left behind however, it has finally supported Android Pay in September 2016. (via Digital Trends)
Meanwhile, Bank of America has services such as adding the user's credit and debit card and allowing them to withdraw cash from the user's bank account by simply tapping the Android device. This is because it has installed NFC-enabled ATMs around the country of US. It has also been reported that those banks who have sponsored Apple Pay may also make use of Google's service since those banks are also compatible with NFC tech for payments. The financial institutions include Ally Bank, American Express, Capital One, HSBC, PNC, TD Bank, and USAA.
Google also aims to make partnership with some of the US' rural banks and credit unions such as Allegacy Federal Credit Union, the Bank of Walterboro, Canyon State Credit Union, Charles Schwab, First Piedmont Federal Savings, Goldman Sachs, Jackson Community Federal Credit Union, Northeast Georgia Bank, Santander Bank, and Wells Fargo.
Major credits cards, such as American Express (AMEX), Discover, and MasterCard, also supports Android Pay while Visa Check and Masterpass website-compatible will also be able to handle Android Pay in the coming days. Again, Google has proven how helpful the brand is for many of its users by through the means of Android pay.
