The Royals: Queen Elizabeth's Health Status Continues To Create Worry; Monarch Reportedly Ill With Hacking Cough
Van DPeople are beginning to worry more about Queen Elizabeth's health after news spread that she may continue to miss church appearances due to a heavy cold. The 90-year-old royal is reportedly still sick with hacking cough and intended to skip church to avoid disturbing others.
Mirror noted that Buckingham Palace did not confirm whether Queen Elizabeth will appear in public soon. The queen has not been spotted for over five weeks. She was also absent from church services at Sandringham on Christmas Day and New Year's Day due to her cold. Queen Elizabeth is allegedly still recovering from the cold and will make a final decision soon whether she will attend church at St. Mary Magdalene.
Queen Elizabeth is believed to have last been seen in public on Dec. 1, 2016, when she visited the Goodenough College for British and international postgraduate students in London. Earlier in December, she also met with diplomats and politicians at Buckingham Palace. Queen Elizabeth attended the funeral of her cousin, Margaret Rhodes, on December 12, and then hosted a traditional party for Buckingham Palace staff with Philip on December 20.
Concerns started to grow after she missed two successive church services, with more getting alarmed when rumors circulated that the queen will miss her third in a row. It was the first time in 28 years that Queen Elizabeth was compelled to miss a Christmas Day service.
Yahoo revealed that Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip were both affected by an illness before Christmas. The queen acquired a persistent hacking cough that has affected hundreds of thousands of others throughout Britain. According to doctors, the illness cannot be treated with antibiotics and only prescribe food, rest and fluids.
According to Princess Anne, Queen Elizabeth was feeling better. Earlier in January 2017, the queen was well enough to present an honor to a trusted staff member at Sandringham House. Based on Court Circular records, Queen Elizabeth invested her Page of the Chambers, Ray Wheaton, with the insignia of Lieutenant of the Royal Victorian Order. The royal was reportedly healthy enough to work on boxes of official papers. More updates and details on Queen Elizabeth are expected soon.
