Pokemon GO: New Poke Stops, Hatch Rates Revealed; Will Raiding System Arrive With Articuno, Zapdos And Moltres?
Rei LantionThe most recent Pokemon GO update has sparked more fan theories and rumors, alongside revealing seven new baby Pokemon. These baby Pokemon, in turn, have affected their evolved in-game forms. Pikachu, Jigglypuff, Clefairy and other evolved forms no longer hatch from eggs. The same can be said of region-exclusives such as Mr. Mime, Tauros, and Kangaskhan.
The Silph Road researchers and data miners have taken to performing further hatch rate tests for this new update. But iTech Post posits newer egg hatch rates will be uncovered over time. Given how game developer Niantic Labs is known for regularly changing egg hatch rates in-game, it may be a fair assumption.
New Poke Stops. Egg hatch rates and baby Pokemon aside, players could be looking at over 17,000 new Poke Stops. In December, reports head it that Niantic has partnered up with two major sponsors, Starbucks and US Sprint, to release brand new spots to hang lures and pick up eggs, revives and Poke Balls. US Sprint accounts for about 10,500 new locations for Pokemon GO players to visit, with Starbucks throwing in an extra 7,800.
Raiding Features. What's really getting fans excited is the promise of a raiding feature. While unconfirmed, Inquisitr, iTech Post and The Bitbag have all snatched up the speculation positied by Jose Otero of IGN, host of the popular podcast Nintendo Voice Chat.
In their episode, "New Nintendo Switch Impressions," Otero voices out that since the "raiding" system was shown in the original trailer, it's tantamount to a promised feature. He also posits that the legendary birds Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres will be released alongside this feature.
Otero refers to the scene at the end of the original Pokemon GO trailer, where players gathered in Times Square and were given a time limit to defeat legendary Pokemon Mewtwo. By working together, they're able to knock it out and ultimately, catch it.
The premise itself was one of Pokemon GO's biggest selling points, and fans are hopeful that the three legendaries may be caught via this system once it's officially introduced.
