Xiaomi Redmi Note 4X Latest Leaked Images Highlight New Design; White Mi Mix Sports Wider Screen Embedded With Elliptic Labs Software
Jack PetersonNew Xiaomi device photos have been leaked through a Chinese Weibo page according to recent reports. Dubbed as Redmi Note 4X, the new smartphone is said to be the same device certified by TEENA in December 2016 though there is a variation on the location of the fingerprint sensor in the new images. Meanwhile, the Chinese electronics company just unveiled a white variant of Xiaomi Mi Mix with an impressive display at CES 2017 in Las Vegas.
The latest live images of the new Redmi smartphone shows a fingerprint sensor that is conveniently located at the front of the device, embedded in a home button. However, the previously leaked image of Redmi Note 4X sports a fingerprint sensor located on its rear, which does not have a home button at the front.
As reported by Playfuldroid, the Weibo poster claimed that the company decided to switch the location of the sensor though he failed to explain why the design needs to be changed. Xiaomi has not officially confirmed the launch of Redmi Note 4X, however.
Meanwhile, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer delighted fans at CES 2017 with the unveiling of the 64-inch Xiaomi Mi Mix in white. Interestingly, the display is widely stretched to either side and to the top part as well.
Xiaomi managed to come up with a device that sports smaller or thinner bezels by positioning the front camera at the bottom of the smartphone, Digital Trends reported. Xiaomi Mi 6 in white also uses a new technology from Elliptic Labs that replaces the proximity sensor, a component usually utilized by smartphones to recognize call gestures in order to turn off the screen and touch capabilities during calls.
The proximity sensor usually takes some space on the display, reportedly, so the company embedded an Elliptic Labs software that makes use of the phone's microphone and speaker to detect movements when the user is on a phone call. The system will then allow the device to switch off the display and disable the touch screen functionality during the call to prevent disruptions.
Xiaomi Mi 6 is currently available in China. If the smartphone will be shipped in the United States in the coming months, it will reportedly cost around $510 for the standard variant. What can you say about Xiaomi Mi 6 and Redmi Note 4X?
