PlayStation Blog stated that "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End" won the Best PlayStation 4 Game of the Year 2016, after garnering over 40 percent of the total votes cast. The runners-up are "Final Fantasy XV," "Battlefield 1" and "Overwatch." "Uncharted 4" also won Best Story, Best Visuals and Best Soundtrack at the PlayStation Game of the Year 2016 Awards.
The Best PS Vita Game at the PlayStation Game of the Year 2016 Awards is "World of Final Fantasy," with runners-up "Lara Croft GO," "Dragon Quest Builders" and "Darkest Dungeon." The Best Independent Game is "Firewatch," followed by "Inside," "The Witness" and "Stardew Valley." The Best Use of PS4 Pro winner at the PlayStation Game of the Year 2016 Awards is "Battlefield 1," followed by "Final Fantasy XV," "Rise of the Tomb Raider" and "Watch Dogs 2."
The Best PlayStation VR Game is "Batman: Arkham VR," with runners-up "Star Wars Battlefront Rogue One X-Wing VR Mission," " Job Simulator" and "EVE Valkyrie." The runners-up for Best Story are "The Witcher 3: Blood and Wine," "Final Fantasy XV" and "The Last Guardian."
Best Performance at the PlayStation Game of the Year 2016 Awards went to Nolan North for his role in "Uncharted 4," followed by Trico in "The Last Guardian," Emily Rose in "Uncharted 4," and Camilla Luddington in "Rise of the Tomb Raider." The Best Soundtrack runners-up are "Final Fantasy XV," "Doom" and "Dark Souls III." The Best Visuals runners-up are "Final Fantasy XV," "Battlefield 1" and "The Last Guardian." The Best Multiplayer is "Battlefield 1," followed by "Overwatch," "Uncharted 4" and "Titanfall 2."
The PlayStation Game of the Year 2016 Awards also gave "The Witcher 3" the Best Post-Release Content award, followed by "Uncharted 4," "Overwatch" and "Destiny." The Most Innovative game is "The Last Guardian" with runners-up "Overwatch," "The Division" and "Firewatch." The Most Anticipated award went to "The Last of Us Part II," followed by "God of War," "Red Dead Redemption 2," and "Final Fantasy VII Remake."
