Apple To Build Computers But Not Intended For Consumer Use
Caroline SorianoApple, the American multinational technology company, has been in the industry for more than 40 years. The brand is known for producing top-of-the-line software, mobile phones, music players, tablets, and computers. Mac, which is formerly known as Macintosh, is the company's own series of personal computers.
Apple has produced Mac since 1984 and until now, the brand has been a successful tech in the market. In fact, it has gathered over a billion fans and every day, each of them is waiting for a new update in regards to their desktop. Recently, the brand has confirmed about their plan on building new computers in the United States, however, it will not be a Mac. Rather, the famous company is targeting to use Mesa, Arizona, Apple's existing facility, to create servers and data centers to be used as its other US amenities. (via Business Insider)
Apple's plans "were referenced in a filing" which is given by the city of Mesa to the US administration and was released in the Federal Register on January 9, 2017. It contains the approval from the US Foreign-Trade Zones Board for the company to produce "finished products" which includes "finished server assembly cabinets." It is known that the brand already has the authority to create components for consumer purposes with the Mesa special zone, however, assuming that this one will be granted, the latest approval will let it carry parts necessary for data centers without the need for customs duty payments. Mesa center is the target place for Apple to create servers for the other data centers of the company across the US and it includes facilities in North Carolina and Oregon. Apple has been using its area in Mesa city as its data center, catering servers and backups for the brand's services such as iCloud and iTunes.
