LG, Motorola & HTC Among The Fastest Android Manufacturers To Update To Nougat; Others Listed
Cris Xander JulianoSome devices apparently were quicker to respond to the release of Android's latest software version. Android Authority compiled the results of the fastest Android manufacturers to update to Nougat, which Google released in Aug. 22, 2016.
LG was the fastest Android manufacturer to release the Nougat on it devices, and took only 78 days after Google's release. LG G5 received Nougat in South Korea and later on the Sprint LG G5 received its update for the US. A few days later, the Canadian G5 Nougat arrived.
Motorola has always been one of the fastest to update to the latest versions of Android as it only took 88 days for the manufacturer to release the Nougat on their Verizon Moto Z and Moto Force.
HTC has always announced that the manufacturer would release its updates three months after Google releases the same. This time around, HTC quietly released Nougat for the HTC 10, 95 days after the official release by Google.
Sony just managed to take 99 days before it could release the Nougat for their Xperia X Performance. While the Xperia XZ, Xperia X and X Compact received its updates just a few days later.
Xiaomi released its Nougat beta for the Mi5 just over three months after Google which indicates that the manufacturer is looking for a timely and stable rollout of its updates.
Samsung has been struggling when it comes to updating to the latest versions of Android. It reportedly took 143 days for the manufacturer to release the Nougat for the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge.
Huawei hasn't release a Nougat update on any of its devices yet, with the exception of the Huawei Mate 9. The Mate 9 came with the Nougat right out of the box, although it is reportedly about to release the Nougat for the Honor 8 very soon.
