Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 Launch Date In India Set For January 19; See Specs, Price And Other Key Details [VIDEO]
Vinay PatelXiaomi Redmi Note 4 smartphone is headed to India and it will be up for grabs exclusively on Flipkart, one of the country's most popular online shopping website.
Xiaomi is all set to debut the Redmi Note 4 smartphone in India on Thursday, Jan. 19, and if a recently surfaced teaser is anything to go by, the smartphone will be exclusively available on Flipkart. The e-commerce giant posted a video to its official Twitter account confirming that Xiaomi's next flagship smartphone will be a Flipkart exclusive.
The short video was apparently in response to a tweet by Indian cricketer Ravindra Jadeja, which was clearly an ad campaign. In their bid to get the buzz started, the company correlated the Redmi Note 4 to the all-rounder - suggesting that the upcoming smartphone is an all-rounder in the smartphone segment.
In order to uphold their claims, Flipkart explained that the Redmi Note 4 is incredibly fast, has a stunning appearance, and has unbelievable power of endurance. In other words, it has all traits of an all-rounder. It's worth noting that this is not the first time Xiaomi has called attention to the Redmi Note 4.
The Redmi Note 4 sports a 5.5-inch full-HD curved glass display with 1080x1920 pixels resolution and a 401ppi pixel density. The dual-SIM (Micro+Nano) smartphone packs a deca-core MediaTek Helio X20 paired with Mali-T880 MP4 GPU. It runs MIUI 8 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. It sports a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and bears an infrared sensor.
On the photography front, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 features a 13MP primary camera equipped with phase detection autofocus (PDAF), an f/2.0 aperture, coupled with dual-tone LED flash. The smartphone has a 5MP front shooter decked with 85-degree wide angle lens. The Redmi Note 4 boasts expandable storage (up to 128GB) via microSD card, according to Gadgets 360.
In terms of connectivity, the Redmi Note 4 has Bluetooth, GPS, GPRS/ EDGE, 3G, 4G (with VoLTE), Glonass and Micro-USB. The smartphone packs a robust 4100mAh battery. The device's dimensions are 151x76x8.35mm and it weighs in at 175 grams. It was launched in Gold, Grey, and Silver color options. The device's selling point is its deca-core SoC and metal build; however, Xiaomi could roll out a different variant in India.
The Beijing-based handset maker launched a couple of models of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 in China back in August 2016. The 2GB of RAM/ 16GB inbuilt storage variant was priced at CNY 899, which converts to about $130, while the 3GB of RAM/ 64GB storage variant was up for grabs for CNY 1,199 (about $174).
It remains to be seen if Xiaomi sticks to the same pricing for the Indian market as well. Stay tuned in here for more details.
