Tom Hardy is undoubtedly one of the most talented and recognized actors of the generation. After many performances in the past that cemented his legacy, he is reportedly setting his sights on something that will most likely require him to change his self yet again.

"The Revenant" actor has been known for fully immersing himself into the roles he receives. One of his roles that started to depict a physical change for the actor is his portrayal of Britain prisoner Charlie Bronson in 2008's "Bronson." According to his official IMDB profile, the actor had to put on massive weight for the succeeding movies "Warrior" and "The Dark Knight Rises" -- but not all the work is considerably great for Hardy.

In an interview with The Daily Beast, Hardy confirmed how he is set to play Al Capone in "Fonzo," and upon being asked if he is to put on some weight for the role, Hardy responded bluntly. The actor mentioned that he might not do the routine he once did for Bane, especially after it may have damaged his body too much. Hardy said that he's only "little" and if he packs on the pounds, his body might collapse.

"I think you pay the price with any drastic physical changes. It was all right when I was younger, to put myself under that kind of duress, but I think as you get into your 40s you have to be more mindful of the rapid training; packing on a lot of weight and getting physical, and then not having enough time to keep training because you're busy filming, so your body is swimming in two different directions at the same time," Hardy explained as to why he believes in the physical philosophy.

Hardy's Al Capone portrayal in "Fonzo" is bound to come within 2017 without a specific date just yet. The actor's most recent character was John Fitzgerald in the 2015 film "The Revenant."
