"WWE 2K18" may be adding Kurt Angle as pre-order bonus for the video game. It was reported that 2K Sports is seriously into making the wrestler as the face of this year's game version.

In case the plan for Angle is pushing through, this will be the first time, after joining the WWE, that he will be designated as a pre-order bonus in the game. Setting popular wrestlers as a bonus prior to the game's release has always been a hit among gamers, thus 2K Sports is at it again.

In WWE 2K17, although he has been inactive in WWE, Goldberg was chosen to be the star in the pre-order bonus. On the other hand, 2K Sports tried a different approach in 2K16 when it decided to use Arnold Schwarzenegger's "The Terminator" as an incentive to early orders.

Now, Angle has the credentials to be the face of "WWE 2K18." He is one of the wrestlers who received the most awards and titles in the history of wrestling entertainment.He boasts of six world titles under his belt and this makes him the perfect choice for pre-order bonus.

What makes Angle unique is the fact that he is actually an athlete wrestler in real life and not just in WWE. In fact, in 1996, he brought home an Olympic Gold medal for wrestling in the amateur category.

According to Sports Illustrated, Angle entered WWE in 1998 but left in 2006. Apparently, his departure from the sport was one reason why he was not featured in any of the newer wrestling video titles.

In addition, he did not appear in video games during the said period because he signed up with Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) for nearly 10 years. It was stipulated in his contract that he is prohibited from being featured on video games.

With his TNA contract already expired, he is free to be on "WWE 2K18." This may also make way for him to return to the ring if he chose to be. Meanwhile, WWE announced that Angle will be honored in the 2017 WWE Hall of Fame and he will be inducted two days prior to the WrestleMania 33.
