Project Scorpio News: Microsoft's Console’s Release Date Still Uncertain, But Worth The Wait? [VIDEO]
Pia MerciSony's PS4 Pro may have made it to store shelves before Microsoft's Project Scorpio did but definitely, there is a huge excitement around the apparently most powerful console. However, although 2017 is going to the year of Project Scorpio, Xbox fans reportedly have to wait a while for Microsoft to unveil the console in full.
The high-spec Xbox One Scorpio console was announced at last year's E3, however, little has been heard or seen from the console ever since. As per Phil Spencer, the head of Xbox, it is actually still unsure that the console will be able to make an appearance before the E3 gaming expo in June.
The Xbox head took to Twitter to answer some of the fans questions, and responded a particular one as to whether Project Scorpio would make an appearance before the expo. Spencer answered that he is honestly not sure but they are much aware that people are looking forward to see more of the console.
Microsoft announced a holiday 2017 launch date for the Xbox One Scorpio, but considering the console's development allegedly going well and with rival consoles hitting the market, the topic of an earlier release was opened. There would be more likely a late release if the powerful console will be held back to E3 or later.
On a good note, the Xbox One Scorpio is coming along right and apparently worth the wait. Spencer was asked about whether he was happy with the Xbox One Scorpio's progress, he said that it is absolutely great as their 1st party teams are getting engines up and tuned, with a great progress across studios, platforms and a like.
So far, the signs for Xbox One Scorpio are good that the console will be a big jump in terms of power over the current Xbox One and the Xbox One S, with the Scorpio's capability of running Microsoft games at native 4K resolution.
The console's flexibility, however, looks to be a selling point as well, given Project Scorpio is compatible too with the Xbox 360 backward compatibility program. Expectantly, the final product will live up to the Xbox users' expectations.
