Leica M10 - A Fusion Of The New And Old Camera Elements Features 24MP, WiFi, And Thinner Frame
Caroline SorianoApparently, Leica M's (Typ 240) successor has become even better with its latest M series, the Leica M10. It seems like the company's concept of blending the new elements with the old had fascinated many people.
In comparison with the recent M-D, Leica's latest update, which involved stripping down almost every digital related aspects from its full-frame camera, has sparked interest and has targeted photography purists. Instead of making advanced upgrades, it has lessened priority capabilities, simplified its operation and control, and ending up with a marvelous classic design. Leica M10 has also focused on improving the areas that fans have requested.
The best example would be adding a WiFi connectivity to Leica despite not having a video feature. Leica M10 also showcases a continuous shooting speed which progresses up to 5 frames per second. Furthermore, it has doubled its buffer size of about 2GB, which means users can have a number of images stored on their portable device. (via CNet) Leica has also worked on attracting its loyal film patrons by giving them their most requested modification: removing 0.13 inches off the camera's depth making it almost similar to the film-based M7.
Meanwhile, The Verge reported that Leica M10 features a newly developed "24-megapixel full-frame CMOS sensor." It also has the brand's Maestro II image processor and a new chip which can capture ISOs starting from 100 up to 50, 000. This means that the camera has exceeded what its predecessor's range can manage.
Moreover, Leica M10 displays a thinner frame therefore, it uses a smaller battery than the early M240's. However, Leica claims that the camera can last up to a hundred frames per charge. These are just some of the features that photography enthusiasts have to take note off. For sure, experts will be interested in buying this handy camera which will be sold for around $6,495.
