Google App News: Latest Update Brings New Offline Search Feature
Gloven RamosThe Google App brings good news for Android users who are currently in the areas with low internet connectivity. On the latest update of the app, it includes a useful feature called the offline search.
Google App's new offline search feature enables users to save searches for later use in the event of poor internet connection. Google stores the searches when the users are offline and will show the result when they reconnect their device.
When the users are in an area with low connectivity and are unable to look up something on Google, they usually give up than trying to load the page. In these instances, users will forget about the search later on when they re-established the connectivity. To prevent this, the Google App new offline search feature will now store the search query in a new section called manage searches.
As soon as the user gets back online, the last query will then be searched automatically by the Google app. According to Android Central, with the new update, users will see the new manage searches option in the Google app which lists their pending searches on their device.
As reported by Gadgets 360, the Google App offline search will work behind the scenes when the user's data connection is available again. It will send a notification saying "Your search result is ready," and the results will then display in the app.
Google claims that this new offline search feature bears no additional baggage on user's data usage. This new feature is only available with the latest Google app v6.9.37 which is now available to download in the Google Play Store.
