AT&T users are enjoying their HTC One X, while T-Mobile customers have to be satisfied with the One S. However, it looks like T-Mobile has something up in its sleeves, with rumors associating a supercharged version of HTC One X for the carrier, on a spree.

TmoNews reported that T-Mobile is planning to launch a variant of HTC One X this September. According to the T-Mobile-centric website, the device in question could be named HTC One X+ due to its powerful processor. Folks at Androidandme believe that the plus (+) moniker is for Tegra 3+ SoC featuring a quad-core processor clocked at 1.7 GHz.

T-Mobile suggested a new smartphone, oddly named HTC Era 42, a few days earlier. Apparently, the device in talks turned out to be the HTC One X+, TmoNews believe. T-Mobile may not have 4G LTE network ready for its customers, but the carrier is offering its users a superphone with a powerful quad-core 1.7 GHz Nvidia Tegra 3 processor under the hood.

The U.S. version of HTC One X, offered exclusively by AT&T, runs on Qualcomm chipset with a dual-core 1.5 GHz Snapdragon S4 processor and 1GB of RAM. Packing the Tegra 3 processor, HTC One X+ would be the most powerful current-generation smartphone available in U.S., even outgunning the mighty Galaxy S3.

In addition, rumors allege that the One X+ would run a stock version of Android OS without HTC Sense layer on top.  If so, T-Mobile will join the Nexus bandwagon offering one of the several Google-branded devices the Internet search giant plans to release this year.

Rumors are all we have, without any official confirmation about the existence of such a device. HTC has also emerged in rumors associated with the much-hyped Facebook Mobile, rumored to debut in mid 2013. Nevertheless, we recommend you take this report with a pinch of salt.
