AMC has just released a new trailer for Season 2 of the show "Into the Badlands" which stars Daniel Wu ("Purple Storm," "Sky on Fire"). Nick Frost ("Shaun of the Dead," "The World's End") joins the cast as a character named Bajie.

According to Empire, AMC has released promo photos and a new trailer for Season 2 of the genre-bending martial arts TV show "Into the Badlands." The post-apocalyptic show will return to TV screens on March 19, 2017.

In "Into the Badlands," the destruction of civilization gave birth to a feudal society. In a dangerous area called the Badlands, seven barons reign and they all rule mercilessly through loyal armies made up of hardened assassins called "Clippers."

When Season 1 of "Into the Badlands" ended, Sunny has been captured by the River King (Lance E. Nichols, "Treme," "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button"). Things won't quiet down anytime soon as The Widow (Emily Beecham, "The Street," "The Village") and Waldo (Stephen Lang, "Avatar," "Don't Breathe") are both out for blood.

Al Gough and Miles Millar are the executive producers for "Into the Badlands." Gough is very happy to be part of the show's team, and he shared that everyone is looking forward to Season 2.

He said, "We take the audience deeper into the Badlands and really open up the world. Our characters will meet new barons, new threats and new allies as their journey continue.... including Nick Frost, who is absolutely brilliant. His mix of humor and humanity make the show soar as much as any martial arts move. And he kicks ass as well!"

Meanwhile, ComicBook has revealed that in the Season 2 trailer for "Into the Badlands," viewers will see Sunny, who is determined to escape from the River King. M.K. (Aramis Knight, "Rendition," "Ender's Game") is now training with a monk who rescued him in Season 1. Bajie (Frost) is also shown escaping with Sunny, but the latter seems uneasy about their alliance.
