iPad Air 3 Positioned By Apple As More Affordable Option; Full Spec Details, Price You Need To Know [VIDEO]
Pia MerciThere is still life for the Air range though Apple reportedly focuses on its newer iPad Pro range if the latest reports is of any indication. There is no doubt that the upcoming iPads are pricey but Apple will apparently position the iPad Air 3 as a more affordable option. Here are the most of the circulating information about the upcoming iPad Air 3.
The iPad Air 3 will allegedly be launched alongside the iPad Pro 2, which means that iPad users might see it in the next few months. Given that the iPad Pro 9.7 was launched way back March of 2016, a refresh might possibly be around March this year, and might have to wait a little longer.
There have been delays regarding the iPad Pro 2 launch and reportedly, chip problems caused these delays. In addition, the next wave of iPads will allegedly arrive sometime between April and June, as per Ming-Chi Kuo, a respected analyst.
Looking back, the iPad Air 2 was launched in October 2014. Considering Apple used to traditionally reveal its tablets at the tail end of the year, users might see the iPad Air 3 sometime in September or October.
The iPad Air 3 design has a high chance of resembling the same design with its predecessor, the iPad Air 2, which itself resembles a lot with iPad Pro 9.7. According to reports, there is not much to expect with regards to any Apple's 2017 tablets' design changes. However, the Air 3 might be a possibly relatively budget option, which any of its alterations could be limited to the more costly iPad Pro 2 models.
Apparently, it will have a metallic built and might possibly resemble its predecessor's dimensions and weight which would likely be at 240 x 169.5 x 6.1 mm and 437g respectively. It's the same dimensions and weight that Apple is stuck with for its iPad Pro 9.7 as well.
Moreover, some of the leaked images of the iPad Air 3 suggest that it may have not changed visually but certainly it has different model numbers. Other than it is possibly water-and dust-resistant, the said tablet allegedly includes the removal of the headphone port which is also the same with the iPhone 7.
iPad Air 3 Screen
According to recent reports, there might be some improvements with its screen like an integration of True Tone which adjusts the color temperature of the screen and the same feature is found on recent iPhones.
There is no changes reported with its camera but given the time frame since the latest model, there is a possible upgrade and users may expect a 12MP rear snapper and a 5MP front-facing camera aligned with the iPad Pro 9.7. The battery might also resemble with its predecessor which is the 7340 mAh fantastic pack.
Meanwhile, the iPad Air 3 will reportedly use a modified version of the A9 chip from the iPhone 6S which might be powerful than iPad Air 2 but weaker than the iPad Pro 9.7, as per Kuo. As for the tablet's price, it may also sell with the current retails of its predecessor for $399/£379/AU$569.
