Nintendo Won't Throw Away The 3DS; Nintendo Switch More Powerful When Dock
JulianneThe Nintendo Switch is a gaming console that is both a handheld device and a home console. The said feature makes the Switch likeable to any consumer in any age level. With that said, it seems that previous gaming consoles from the company will soon be out of use.
However that will not be the case as Nintendo of America president, Reggie Fils-Aime recently had an interview with Polygon. The Nintendo president stated that both Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo Switch will co-exist as time goes by. Fils-Aime added that Nintendo aims to support the consoles and both products exists side by side.
According to the publication, if the gaming company's beloved portables die out in the next few years, it's highly likely that the company will focus more on Switch for gamers who want robust games. Otherwise, Nintendo can focus on mobile games like "Super Mario Run" that is designed for a shorter gaming session that is always with the player.
The 3DS line of portables will begin to occupy a middle ground and soon will phase out. After that, it may not be that attractive to the company anymore.
Meanwhile, the same publication stated that Nintendo Switch is more powerful when played at home. The Switch is primarily a home system that offers a competent handheld mode. It may be a big letdown for consumers who want to purchase the console based on the handheld mode itself.
According to The Inquisitr, the console only renders at 900p. That is not close to PlayStation and Xbox's 1080p/60fps. If Nintendo wants to attract more, then the company must give what the consumer wants. However, Nintendo has always been more concerned in performance rather than power, so this is expected of them.
The Nintendo Switch is bound to be released on March 3, 2017 with six launch titles, including "Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild."
