Valve’s Steam Developers Are Making Improvements Regarding to Their Game Updates
Ralphy Bonn Sim2016 was a productive year for Steam with with their 4000 games released in the previous year alone. Developers are now focused on how to expand, flourish and improve Steam to meet their users' expectations.
A big adjustment has been made in Steam's review system in 2016. This involved the separation between Steam purchases and Steam Keys which can be bought from external sources and were provided by developers for free. Thhis has been particularly difficult for games funded through Kickstarter, PCGamer reported.
For those smaller games who often gain smaller reviews because of picky, hopping players and fewer fans, their average scores suffer. Steam can still have an action about it, making methods that can trigger players to have an interaction with the game's management that can produce reviews and let everyone know how good the game is.
Forrest Dowling, the designer of the game "The Flame in Flood," once stated that by rewarding a player in making reviews is a productive way to neutralize the outcome of game launches. It is a useful method in such a way that people who can read those reviews will be given enough ideas, information and more excitement before they play a certain Steam game.
"It will be a huge support to reward a developer who continues to improve their title," Dowling said according to Steam. "I'd actually be more concerned in seeing Valve to take it further, maybe leads to the iOS store in which reviews get secluded based on version that allows a developer to enhance their game title. Online mobs can really affect a game's standing, so ways to mitigate that seems like they would be worth pursuing."
