'Kimi no Na wa. (Your Name.)' Real-Life Location Tour For Free; Submission Of Applications Ongoing; Location Details & More

"Kimi no Na wa. (Your Name.)" is inviting everyone for an official tour for free. Here are the details of the tour that is even supported by the Japanese government.

Cool Japan Initiative, a Tokyo-based Anime Tourism Association on January 21 began accepting applications for the upcoming "Kimi no Na wa. (Your Name.)" Official Tour. The tour affords a free Seichi Junrei or Holy Pilgrimage tour to visit the real locations featured in Makoto Shinkai's latest hit anime film, "Kimi no Na wa. (Your Name.)." The locations include the Hida region of Gifu Prefecture and Tokyo. Cool Japan Initiative was launched in 2010 to increase exports of cultural products and to enhance Japan's image.

"Kimi no Na wa. (Your Name.)" Official Tour" is one among the seven experimental projects the Japanese government supports financially since December 2016. These projects were launched to strengthen partnership among businesses under the scope of Cool Japan Initiative. These 32 companies and organizations submitted their proposals in May of 2016 and the total budget cost for the entire project is 130 million yen or approximately $1.135 million.

Japan's anime tourism debuted with "Kimi no Na wa. (Your Name.)" Official Tour. The purpose of introducing tourists to Japan's interesting sites and personally experience it. Another purpose of the "Kimi no Na wa. (Your Name.)" Official Tour is to gather insightful feedback for the development of tourist transportation systems in the future.

Official Tour Details

The official tour will last for five or six days between March 1 (Wednesday) and April 30 (Sunday) 2017 depending on departure location. "Kimi no Na wa. (Your Name.)" official tour will handle 30 participants from all participating countries with a minimum of five persons for every tour.

The application is open until February 28, 201. However, only one application is allowed for every individual. The "Kimi no Na wa. (Your Name.)" official tour is free. Transportation fares while on the tour, accommodations, and prepared meals throughout the stipulated tour period are all provided free to participants.
