'The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild' News: German USK Logo In Nintendo Switch Packaging Enrages BOTW Fans
Arianne GiftNintendo unveiled the official packaging for its Switch games last week and it looked like a narrow case that's somehow reminiscent of Sony's Universal Media Disc (UMD) for the PSP. While this wouldn't be an issue, German fans of "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" took to social media to express their woes on how the USK -- the country's rating board -- had messed with BOTW's box art.
Unterhaltungssoftware Selbstkontrolle (USK), or the Entertainment Software Self-Regulation Body, is the organization responsible for video game ratings in Germany. What fans are complaining about is the its prominent certification label on "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild's" cover art which, according to them, "has f***ed up Zelda: BOTW cover art," as seen on this Tendo Switch post.
This has had a rather nasty effect on the upcoming Switch version of "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild," which has seen Nintendo being forced to redesign the RPG's box art, Power Up Gaming reported. BOTW's logo right now has been squashed to the side to make room for the huge USK label.
German fans aren't happy of USK's move, saying they'd rather purchase the UK or French release of the title instead. "Living in Germany, this is why I tend to import. The USK logo is an abomination," said a fan on Twitter.

So far, only "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" fans have had issues on the cover art, and the incident has only been noted in Germany. However, a Twitter fan on the same thread expressed that BOTW isn't the only game altered by USK's, but all the others, as well.
"The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" is an upcoming action-adventure video game developed and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo Switch and Wii U. It will be release in March 3, 2017.
