'Veronica Mars' Revival Update: Rob Thomas Shares Info About The 6-Episode Series!
Rommel"Veronica Mars" revival is definitely in the works! After the Gilmore Girls revival, it seems like another 90s hit will be coming to fruition. The way to opening a reunion project for the series is getting stronger.
Kristen Bell, "Veronica Mars" lead character has confirmed that the scoop is true and the series creator, Rob Thomas, is already thinking about it. Right now, the showrunner is targeting a limited-series format for a fan-funded feature film. According to him when interviewed during the recent Comic-Con: "We are currently thinking about it and working hard to do it again. This time, we will not be asking the audience to finance it or anything."
Currently, Rob Thomas is busy promoting "iZombie" Season 3 and in the winter press tour for Television Critics Association last week, he mentioned that there is a possibility for "Veronica Mars" to be revived into hour-long six-episode season. He deliberately said that Kristen Bell and him are working out their schedule and figuring out on an interesting storyline for the new series. He also shared that he knows in his heart that it will happen however, as to when it will finally come, it is still uncertain at this point.
Presently, the conflict on Kristen Bell's commitment on "The Good Place" in NBC, as well as, Rob Thomas leading the "Lost Boys" remake for The CW can be the hurdles and they need to clear out everything for the new "Veronica Mars" season to transpire. He explained that they need to check their schedules and find a window when they can both do it. A Netflix outing can be possible, but that would depend on Kristen Bell's contract with NBC.
The non-competitive clause can make "Veronica Mars" happen sooner than expected. Developing "Lost Boys", Rob Thomas added that Kristen Bell and him had agreed to do it again, and they want it to happen soon.
