There are rumors that "Veronica Mars" is about to have the revival treatment. Series creator Rob Thomas recently shared some details about the potential reunion project.

TVLine stated that previously, Kristen Bell, who starred as Veronica Mars in the UPN and The CW series, confirmed that she and Rob Thomas are planning to reunite. The "Veronica Mars" revival will return in a limited-series format. The actress added that they are working to bring back the series, but they will not request the audience to pay for anything.

Rob Thomas said that the potential "Veronica Mars" revival will consist of six episodes, with each lasting one hour. He said that he is discussing how they could launch a six-episode "Veronica Mars" mystery. He bets that the project will happen, although he cannot provide a definite schedule yet.

At present, Kristen appears on "The Good Place" on NBC and upcoming "Lost Boys" remake on The CW. Thomas explained that they needed to look for a time window to work on "Veronica Mars." The creator said that when actors are on network shoes, standard contracts usually provide them opportunities to guest star in other shows a few times. Kristen will hopefully be given the chance to participate in the "Veronica Mars" revival.

The original "Veronica Mars" series is a mystery drama set in the fictional town of Neptune, California. The story focuses on Veronica Mars who is a student by day and a private investigator by night. Each episode shows Veronica Mars solving a mystery while attempting to solve a bigger one. The series was well-loved by viewers, particularly teenagers, and ran for three seasons. "Veronica Mars" aired from September 2004 to 2007.

After the series was cancelled, Thomas and Bell started a fundraising campaign to produce a "Veronica Mars" film via Kickstarter after Warner Bros. declined to fund their proposal. The successfully raised over $5.7 million and released the movie on Mar. 14, 2014.

In the meantime, Bell and Thomas are working together on "Lost Boys." More updates and details on the cast and storyline of the planned "Veronica Mars" project are expected soon.
