'Criminal Minds' Season 12 Episode 'Spencer': Producer Assured Fans Reid Is Not Going Anywhere; Jane Lynch Returns!
Coco Dollanganger"Criminal Minds" follows the story of an elite group of FBI profilers hunting down the country's most twisted criminal minds before they can strike again and the team includes a quirky genius doctor whose mother is suffering from Schizophrenia. Doctor Spencer Reid is known to have an IQ of 187 and is able to read 20,000 words per minute with a photographic memory.
"Criminal Minds" season 12 episode 13 is titled ‘Spencer' written by Erica Messer and Kirsten Vangsness (who played the role of Penelope Garcia, the computer genius in the show) and this will be a course-changer for Dr. Reid, reports say. Season 12 has shown the genius doctor dealing with his mother's health condition, which he was asked to take a leave to spend more time with his mother.
AJ Cook, who played the role of JJ in the show, said that they are going to shock many fans that stem from all the drama that has happened last year, which leads them to write interesting storylines particularly for Reid. "We've got some very personal stuff happening to some very loved characters, so there will be mayhem within the fandom," she told TV Line. "But don't worry, stick with us."
Jane Lynch (Diana Reid - Spencer's mother in the show) is also returning in "Criminal Minds" season 12 and this would be her first appearance since 2008 and writer Erica Messer said that the ‘Spencer' episode is going to be an intense one. She went on to say that it's a journey that they have never imagined that would happen, but it still happens in the coming episode.
In a thread on Reddit where the ‘Spencer' episode title was leaked, fans started to worry that Reid is leaving "Criminal Minds" as Vangsness and Messer both penned the script for ‘Nelson's Sparrow' and ‘A Beautiful Disaster' and these are goodbye episodes for Derek Morgan (Shemar Moore) and Jason Gideon (Mandy Patinkin). On the plus side, "Criminal Minds" producer assured fans on Twitter that Reid is not going anywhere and Vangsness also said that they were only going to shake some things up.
