The EVO 2017 won't happen until July but the top eight games to be featured at the event have already been confirmed this early. The lineup includes the highly anticipated "Injustice 2" and "Tekken 7: Fated Retribution" but apparently, there's some bad news for "Mortal Kombat X" fans.

The top eight games that had been announced earlier for the upcoming EVO 2017 include "BlazBlue: Central Fiction", "Guilty Gear Xrd Rev. 2", "Injustice 2", "King of Fighters XIV" and "Street Fighter V". The classic but still popular "Super Smash Bros." for Wii U and "Super Smash Bros. Melee" still join the list of games.

On the other hand, "Tekken 7: Fated Retribution" that is set for release on June 2 to Xbox One, PS4 and PC platforms will also grace the annual gaming tournament. Thus, players only have one month to hone their skills for this game prior to the gaming battle.

EVO founder Joey "MrWizard" Cuellar officially confirmed the top eight games via Red Bull Esports live stream alongside the well-known gamer within the gaming community, Mike Ross, who revealed the complete information about the upcoming event that is traditionally held every July of the year.

Moreover, Segment Next further noted that it's no surprise to see "Street Fighter V" making a comeback this year as a star title for the Evolution Championship Series with another returning game, "Super Smash Bros". The event also adds one video game that have been part of the competition for two succeeding years and still, it has made it to the list of titles for EVO 2017.

On the contrary, with this good news also comes a bad news, especially for the hardcore gamers of "Mortal Kombat X". This year, "MKX" will no longer be part of the show and "Injustice 2", another upcoming title from NetherRealm Studios and Warner Bros., will take its slot instead.

But there is still hope as the gaming community is given a chance to vote for the ninth title on top of the eight games announced for EVO this year. This forms part of the event's charity program and raise funds for a cause.

So,voters can choose among the list of nine video games that they want to be included in this year's competition and the one that gets the biggest donations will be declared as winner and 9th entry to EVO 2017 lineup.

The nine video games that voters can choose from are "ARMS", "Killer Instinct", "Mortal Kombat XL", "Nidhogg", "Pokken Tournament", "Skullgirls", "Super Street Fighter II Turbo", "Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3" and finally, "Windjammers". EVO 2017 will be held once again in Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas on ly 14-16.
