'Final Fantasy 7' Remake To Get New Updates Soon, But Release Date Possibly Delayed
Nicole T.Gaming events this year will likely reveal pieces of information about the "Final Fantasy VII" remake. This is according to the game's director, Tetsuya Nomura, and Square Enix. However, it appears that a 2017 release might not happen.
The "Final Fantasy VII" remake was first announced in 2015. But, since then, there weren't much details released to the public.
Director Tetsuya Nomura has hinted, however, that the 2017 release of "Final Fantasy VII" is unlikely. According to GamingBolt, the director mentioned how hectic this year will be for Square Enix.
"There are also the annual events," Nomura said. "E3 in June, Tokyo Game Show in September, Jump Festa in December-and on top of preparing for the KH concert I'm simultaneously managing things like season two of 'KHUχ' and 'Dissidia FF', so yes, this year is looking to be fully loaded."
Some are also thinking that the development of "Kingdom Hearts 3" could also be the reason behind "Final Fantasy VII's" delay. Nomura revealed that the supervision for "KH3" has changed. Still, he assured that these issues do not affect the game itself.
Apart from that, the director also mentions that they hope to release more about their progress on the game this year. He also apologized for the time it took to release details about "Final Fantasy VII" and "Kingdom Hearts 3" and asked fans to "please wait for your 'surprise.'"
According to Express, the said "Final Fantasy VII" surprise could be revealed soon. Tetsuya Nomura has already confirmed his attendance in a major international gaming conference. It is highly likely the 'surprise' will be revealed there.
The big conference will be Monaco Anime Game International Conference (MAGIC). This will happen on February 18.
